At SMART Centre, we know that creating lasting change requires collaboration. That’s why partnerships are at the core of everything we do. Whether we’re working with local governments, NGOs, or the private sector, these collaborations enable us to scale our impact and bring sustainable water and sanitation solutions to more communities.
One of our most impactful partnerships is with SHIPO (Southern Highlands Participatory Organization). Through this collaboration, we’ve been able to implement large-scale projects in Njombe that provide communities with access to clean water and improved sanitation. SHIPO’s deep community engagement combined with SMART Centre’s technical expertise has resulted in projects that are both community-driven and sustainable.
In addition, our partnerships with international NGOs have allowed us to bring global best practices into our local context. For example, our ongoing collaboration with WaterAid has been instrumental in improving water supply systems across the Southern Highlands. Through shared resources and expertise, we’ve been able to ensure that these systems are not only built but also maintained, creating long-term resilience in the communities we serve.
Our private sector partnerships also play a critical role in expanding our reach. By working with local businesses, we’ve been able to support the production and distribution of essential water technologies such as rope pumps and bio-sand filters. These businesses are key to ensuring that the products are affordable and accessible to the communities that need them most, fostering a local economy built around sustainability.
Through these collaborations, we’re scaling solutions that tackle water and sanitation challenges in ways that are both effective and sustainable. Partnering for impact means that together, we can achieve more and make a bigger difference for the people who need it most.
